A animação Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, da Universal e Illumination Entertainment bateu recorde de bilheteria em sua estreia ao arrecadar incríveis US$70.7 milhões.
Esta é a melhor estreia da história do cinema nos EUA para uma animação original. Outro que se deu bem na estreia foi Projeto X – Uma Festa do Barulho, que acumulou um rendimento de 20 milhões de dólares.
