A trilha sonora da cerimônia de abertura dos Jogos Olímpicos de Londres, marcada para o dia 27 de julho, é uma das mais pop – e polêmicas – de todos os tempos.
Dirigida por Danny Boyle, o aclamado diretor de filmes como Trainspotting, Quem Quer Ser Um Milionário? e 127 Horas, a cerimônia vai incluir sucessos da música pop inglesa de todas as épocas.
A abertura, orçada em £ 27 milhões – cerca de R$ 87,5 milhões -, será aompanhada ao vivo por 1 bilhão de pessoas ao redor do mundo.
Na lista completa de 86 músicas, divulgada pelo jornal inglês Telegraph, há espaço para o rock dos Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd e The Rolling Stones, clássicos dos anos 1990 como Oasis, Blur e Radiohead, além de sucessos recentes de Muse, Adele, Coldplay e Tinie Tempah.
Mas com certeza a inclusão mais polêmica é God Save The Queen, dos Sex Pistols. Hino ácido direcionado objetivamente à Rainha Elizabeth II, a faixa será executada na frente da monarca, que acompanhará a cerimônia pessoalmente.
